Donors Choose

Sent October 18th 2017

Good morning!  I want to make you aware of a project that I have listed on DonorsChoose.org.  It is to get STEM books for the class. Today and tomorrow only any donations made to my project will be matched.  :-)  If you can donate, great but what I would really like is if you could post my project on your social media page.  That way we can reach more people. I want to make sure my students have the materials they need to succeed, so I've created a classroom project request through DonorsC...

Today your child will be bringing home his/her school pictures.  I must say they are absolutely adorable.  If you would like to have retakes or your child missed picture day, retakes are scheduled for October 19th.   Please be working on spelling words this week.  Our test is on Friday.  Please also send the ring of cards back Friday so that I may prepare them for next week. Next week is the end of the first 9 weeks so we will be doing some assessments over the things we have covered so far i...

HOMEWORK

Sent September 12th 2017

Several students have Math homework tonight.  It is p. 37 from our math packet.  I wrote at the top of it if your child needs to do it as homework.  Today several did not use their time wisely and were not being good listeners.  I have given feedback to each student about what they need to do but please remind them to return the work tomorrow. Thanks for your help!  Mrs. Frieze ...

This week's news

Sent September 10th 2017

It's hard to believe that this week we will mark being in first grade for 30 days.  It really has gone by quickly.   I am currently working on DRAs to give you the most up-to-date reading levels for your child.  My goal is to have them done by your conferences. Spelling will begin this week.  Look for the words to be on a ring in your child's folder on Monday.  I will mark the lists he/she should study based on the results of our pretest tomorrow.  Please study a little bit each ...
