Good afternoon, Wow! it has been a busy week here in 5th grade. The kids completed our first shared reading, "Night of the Spadefoot Toads". They really enjoyed this book, and made some awesome connections. We also took our first Language Arts test. On Thursday, we completed our second Math unit, and took a unit test over that. Finally, we finished our unit in Social Studies about the Eastern Woodland Indians. The kids worked really hard during this short week, so I hope they can have a relaxing and fun week...

Good afternoon, It has been such an honor and a pleasure to get to know your students. This is a great bunch of kids! I tell them everyday how proud I am of them and their hard work. We have now settled into our regular school routine. We are deep into our study of characters, point of view, exponents, and decimals. We will be having our first math test on Tuesday, August 22nd. Good evening, The kids are getting excited about our field trip coming up on Monday! I'm excited to spend the day exploring the State Park. We have to turn in our _final lunch counts and student counts_ into the office by _tomorrow_. If you have not returned your permission slip, please make sure to do that tomorrow. Good afternoon, I hope everyone made it home safe and sound, and everyone is staying warm. I have a few announcements for you.  1. Today, the kids brought home lots of papers. They were completed work, spring picture forms, flower sale information, and some practice sheets for them to complete at home. Good afternoon! I hope everyone had a chance to get out and enjoy the weather this weekend. My family and I spent the day at the park yesterday. I was loving the sunshine and laughter! Good afternoon Families, I hope everyone had a great weekend with lots of relaxation. My family enjoyed watching the light snow fall coming down, and movie night on Friday. There are just a couple of things I wanted to mention as we begin this week. 1) I sent home a reading log with each kid today. It is asking that they read with an adult for 10 - 15 minutes each night, and complete the log.
